The CONTENUR UK team will ride from London to Paris in July in support of a deserving charity close to the hearts of the Team.
The nine-person group will be made up of CONTENUR employees and customers and will set off on the 18th of July from the Cutty Sark in London on a journey that will finish at the Eiffel Tower in Paris on the 20th of July - covering 100 miles a day in the process. They will be supported by a back-up team providing food, drinks and encouragement.
Over the past three years, CONTENUR UK is proud to have supported various social causes such as mental health and cancer in their charity events. This year the proceeds will go to the Manchester Tourettes Support Group. Tourette Syndrome or TS is a neurological disorder with an onset primarily in infancy or adolescence, before the age of 18. Tourette Syndrome is characterised by multiple motor and verbal tics that persist for more than a year. These involuntary tics (which the patient cannot control) can be complex and affect the entire body, for instance kicking and stamping.
The Manchester Tourettes Support Group was founded two years ago to assist adults, children and entire families living with Tourette's. This was the first group to be established in the North-West of England and now is made up of over 300 people who request and receive support directly through their Facebook group. The group also hold monthly meetings with an average attendance of 70 people. These meetings provide a secure and supportive environment in which people living with Tourette's, and their families, can avail of help and support free from prejudice, as well as participate in various activities.
CONTENUR has set an objective of £5,000 so that the Manchester Tourettes Support Group can continue to assist all the families who need their help.
This will be a very tough physical challenge for the Team but worth the effort to support the charity. If you wish to make a donation, please click on the below link:
